AnoHana (from the same guys who did Toradora, so it MUST be perfect!) is a very emotional und dramatic anime about old friends trying to forget what happend on "that day" which changed their lifes forever. The ghosts of past seem never to die. After Clannad the saddest anime I've ever watched.
I'm not sure which genre would describe AnoHana best. It's a bit of comedy, slice of life, drama, romance (?). But all those things are so secondary in this anime. Because the main topic is how those people deal with the death of their childhood friend Meiko, who appears some years later as a ghost to offer a last wish.
Meikos friends changed a lot after she passed away. But only together they are able to fulfill her last wish. AnoHana is a lot about friendship and holding together, but that's common in this genre. The damn good thing about AnoHana is how it wants to teach these topics. Life is not always that happy and wonderful. And AnoHana leads us carefully to this fact, without forgetting the good sides of living.
You'll see... it's sad and emotional and things, but also cute and funny and wonderful! AnoHana is an anime I'm happy to have watched and never want to forget, but I don't want to watch it again (it's too sad though).
